NARS Haul & Review

NARS Blush in Dolce Vita
NARS Bronzer in Laguna
NARS Sheer Finish Lipstick in Damage

Over the weekend, I paid a little visit to Space NK, which can only be described as beauty blogger heaven. I instantly gravitated towards the NARS stand, as I initially intended on buying the infamous 'Orgasm' blush (intensely dislike the name choice!) However, after a browse I decided that Dolce Vita was better suited to my skintone. Whilst I was there on of the lovely assistants did my makeup using solely NARS products, including NARS Laguna Bronzer and a lipstick from the satin range in 'Damage', needless to say, I returned the next day to buy Laguna and Damage as I loved them so much and felt they were necessary in my collection!

Blush in Dolce Vita
'Dolce Vita' is quite an underrated blush from NARS, it doesn't have the same stigma as Orgasm, Deep Throat or Super Orgasm (yet again, grim names), it is one I have heard very little about. Its a beautiful muted dusty pink shade, which suits most skin tones. As someone with incredibly pale skin, I dont find it to bright or over-powering, it just looks natural and subtle. Its quite similar to MAC's Blushbaby (review here) in the sense that it has an almost lilac undertone to it, which in my opinion makes it appear more warm-toned and natural. I wouldn't say that it is matte by any means, yet its not packed full of shimmer, again its subtle and adds a warm glow when applied. As you'd expect from NARS it is incredibly pigmented and lasts all day.
For some reason, the map style background made the blush look a different shade than it is. Its colour it true to form on the white background.

Bronzer in Laguna
Possibly one of the most hyped products in the beauty blogging community. There isn't one beauty guru who hasn't atleast mentioned this bronze at one stage. Its by far the lightest bronzer shade I own, with my usual go-to bronzer being Benefit's Dallas (review here) which is much darker in comparison. When applied there isnt a great deal of colour payoff, yet you're very aware that it is there. Let me try and explain that a little better: a little goes a long way. You dont need a tonne to make it visible, it somehow blends into your skin and looks incredibly natural. As I have said, I am a very pale person and this again isn't overpowering or too dark. Its more brown-toned, opposed to orange, which I approve of as being ginger I find that orange toned bronzers are slightly too much! There is a light gold shimmer running throughout the bronze, but not enough to make you look shiny. It makes you look healthy and glowing, with its light gold undertones (see the swatch).

Sheer Finish Lipstick in Damage
I have to be honest and say I hear very little about NARS lipsticks, I am constantly seeing reviews for their eyeshadows, bronzers and blushes, but lipstick and lipgloss reviews are very few and far between. The quality is glorious, as you'd expect, and even though it is a sheer lipstick there is an unbelievable colour pay-off. The sheer quality makes it look very natural and my-lips-but-better. Its very soft and nourishing, which is a problem I have with MAC's 'cremesheen' formulas, which I find very dry and chalky in texture. It has great staying power for a sheer lipstick, and adds a lovely sheen to your lips. A truly beautiful colour, that looks so unbelievably natural.

What do you think? Do you have any of these products?
Have you seen NARS lipsticks reviewed before?
