Review: No Foundation Foundation by Perricone MD

Being one of those people that is cursed with oily/problematic skin, I am constantly on the look out for a foundation that is natural and lightweight, but can also cover my many blemishes. I am not overly conscious of my skin (spots, large pores, acne scars and all) but I do very rarely leave the house without putting some manner of foundation on my face. Its the sad truth, there is something about foundation that can give some slight confidence, to not just those of us with problematic skin, but even those with a flawless complexion. This is where I eagerly introduce Perricone MD's No Foundation Foundation, a fabulous sheer foundation that acts like a tinted moisturiser, to give a natural, translucent coverage.

No Foundation Foundation, is exactly what you expect, a foundation that is so subtle it is almost unrecognisable. It aims to make your skin look 'dewy and flawless' and although I would normally shy away from 'dewy' finish foundations, I just can't get enough of this. I felt that it worked with my skin, assessing my skin type, to make sure that it didn't over compensate on dewyness! I have quite the collection of 'acne' scars and I always attack them with concealer in a bid to hide them (silly, I know!) however, I didn't feel the need to combine concealer with this product, as it managed to cover all my facial flaws (well..not all of them, it would have to be a miracle in a jar to work that magic!). Honestly, from the price tag I was expected something outstanding as I am one of those people that believes price should reflect quality, and it certainly didn't disappoint. Simple criticisms would be that it only comes in one shade and this on me (as you may be able to see from the pictures) was slightly too orange toned. I am quite pale and usually always pick up the lightest shade in a foundation range, and so for me, I struggled to make it work on its own without having to mix it with a lighter shade of foundation.

The product is by no doubt luxury, that is evident from its price range along with the packaging and the brand. It makes the skin naturally dewy and glowing whilst incorporating SPF 30, which is always beneficial for sunny weather (*insert typical British weather comment here*) and is created by the by a dermatologist to many a famous face!

  9. This looks so unique, I havent seen anything really like this before. I tried a sample of Perricone before though and I couldnt bear to put it near to my face due to the smell though unfortunately. Does this product have a scent to it? Otherwise, it does make your skin look fantastic and like youre not wearing anything on it at all. Always a bonus in my eyes :)
