Harry Potter Studio Tour

As a HUGE Harry Potter fan girl and someone who has 'grown up' with Harry Potter, I was extremely excited to go on the Harry Potter Studio Tour. I went with my mother and sister, as part of my 18th birthday back in March and I couldn't contain my excitement. I was seriously over-whelmed by the whole experience, how intricate the set designs were, the elaborate costumes and realistic props-such as the Philosopher's Stone, Tri-wizard Cup and fake food for the tables in the Great Hall.

I couldn't quite get over the fact that I was so close to costumes worn by some of Britain's most celebrated actors and items used in the actual Harry Potter films. Afterwards, I watched Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix and couldn't help but pick out all the things I had actually touched, and stood by! There are incredibly intricate details on many of the sets and props, that you can't even see in the films, its incredible to look at things in close detail and see the talent and time that has gone into producing it-for example, The fire-place in the Great Hall, which has the Hogwart's crest carved delicately into the stone, which is something un-seen in all eight films.

If you, like me, are a Harry Potter fan, then this is something you cannot miss. Harry Potter has been something that I have grown up with, with the early books being read to me, until I could begin to read them myself. To watching the first film at the age of six, and subsequently hiding behind my mother when Voldemort/Quirrel attacked Harry and turned to dust (this followed with nightmares afterwards, as I was convinced that Voldemort hid in my wardrobe).

Have you been, what did you think?
Are you, too, a huge Harry Potter fan?
