Worth The Hype: Vasaline Pink Bubbly

There has been a huge hype over the new, limited edition Vasline Pink Bubbly. So, I decided to buy a tin and see what all the fuss was about. It was probably a bad idea from the start considering that I dont like champagne or any type of wine for that matter. If I remember rightly, it cost me around the £3.50 mark, which I personally think is quite steep for a tin of 'petroleum jelly with a hint of decedance'.

I was bitterly disappointed by the product. To me, there is absolutely nothing that makes it any different to the standard origional tin. It even smells the same (trust me, I did a smell test!!), and once on your lips it even feels and tastes the same. I tried really hard to find something that made it stand out, something that made it worth that £3.50, but there really wasn't anything. Just a tin of original Vasaline, with a pink tint, that is hiding in a fancy tin.

I do think this would make a good Christmas (am I really mentioning Christmas in October?!) stocking filler or just a little gift as the person recieving it will appreciate the tin and get all absorbed in the hype themselves. As for buying it for yourself, if you need a new tin of Vasaline, I would go for it, but if you're just buying it for the sake of it, I really wouldnt bother. Just spend that £3.50 on a large chocolate bar, and still take away some change.

What do you think? Have you tried the Pink Bubbly Vasaline?

    1. If you have ran out of Vasaline and need some more then go for it, but not just for the sake of it, its a huge dissapointment!

  2. I saw these in boots yesterday but i really disliked the fact that the tins were easily opened by people as there wasn't any kind of seal on them. I picked one up anyway because i am deciding to do a giveaway soon and i am just accumulating things from here and there. It does smell quite amazing though, but the novelty of this goes reasonably quickly as it does the same job as the original Vaseline pots! Deffo too expensive for what it is, but amazing as a christmas present :)
Thanks for the honest review on this xxxx

    1. yeah, I always get nervous by all makeup being so easy to get into! Makes me cringe, I have bought many products before, got them home and theyve already been used by someone. Gross. I would reccomend it for your giveaway, its a great novelty gift! :)

  6. I find the Vaseline 'Rosy Lips' one to be the best as it does give a subtle hint of colour. It's not exactly nourishing though, so I wouldn't pay over £1 for it! x

    1. No, Vasaline isnt the best of lip products I dont think! I think the best is probably Burt's Bee's for hydration!

  7. I felt exactly the same after buying the Creme Brulee limited edition. I don't know why I bothered when vaseline is crap for your lips anyway! x
